In response to the rapid technological advancements and industrial transformation, the department offers specialized tracks in Smart Manufacturing & Automation and Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology. A key highlight of these specializations is the strategic collaboration with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), one of India’s most respected engineering conglomerates. As an education partner, L&T brings real-world industry exposure into the academic framework. These emerging areas are carefully integrated into the curriculum through a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical training, and real-world applications.

Specialization in Smart Manufacturing and Automation

Smart Manufacturing is revolutionizing the way industries operate by integrating advanced technologies like IoT, AI, robotics, and data analytics into production systems. This specialization focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to design, implement, and manage intelligent manufacturing systems. Topics such as Industry 4.0, digital twins, cyber-physical systems, advanced robotics, and automation form the core of this track.

Specialization in Electric Vehicles

The Electric Vehicle specialization addresses the global shift toward sustainable and green mobility solutions. This program offers in-depth learning on EV powertrains, battery management systems, electric motors, charging infrastructure, and vehicle dynamics. Students explore both hardware and software aspects of electric mobility, supported by labs, design projects, and industry case studies.

The department is equipped with the latest teaching aids and facilities in the core areas of mechanical engineering. The laboratories have been strengthened and modernized by procuring state-of-art equipment and latest software.

The department is committed to provide an outstanding research and learning environment to students. While building a solid foundation of the fundamentals, students are also exposed to emerging trends of the industry and being molded to become qualified professionals of the future. All the students undergo compulsory in-house summer training to develop skills in the application of theory to practical real-life problems. Students also actively organize various programs and participate in workshops under the aegis of SAE, ISHRAE, and ASME.

  • State of art lab facilities are available in the department which include Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Lab, Manufacturing workshop, Robotics lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, Automobile and ICGT Lab, 3-D Printing, Heat Transfer, Hydraulic and Pneumatics Lab etc. Student can do hand-on practices on the facilities available.
  • Mechanical Engineering Department has signed MoU with Altair-DesignTech to enhance the knowledge of knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Structural Analysis, Thermal Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Manufacturability of Products of Casting, Plastics and Sheet Metal, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Composite Materials and Industrial Projects Execution.
  • The Mechanical Engineering Department has signed MoU with Air-conditioning India Pvt. Ltd (DAIPL) to start a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on HVAC Systems in the University that will impart practical skill training and industrial exposure to the students within the campus.
  • The Mechanical Engineering Department has signed a MoU with TransNeuron to transform students into industry-ready professionals by providing them with adequate backing to take that journey. Company will help the students to obtain industry-relevant certifications, by giving them an opportunity to try a hand at industry projects and internships.
  • Course content also covers the areas of Cyber Physical systems, Data Analytics, Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Mechatronics and 3D Printing etc. which have also been incorporated for developing “industry ready” students.
  • Conferences/ Seminars/ Workshops/ Expert Talks/Alumni Sessions are organized and regularly get abreast with latest technologies.
