It also involves new-generation technologies and upcoming skills such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Data Science, Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, IoT, Blockchain, Full Stack Development, DevOps, Mobile Computing, Computer Networking, Multimedia, and AR/VR-based Gaming.
Practical experience is imparted by the university to students in the form of lab, projects, and seminars, supplemented by industrial training, internship, and research-based projects that give exposure to contemporary industry practice and technology.
Academic Foundation (Year 1)
Skill Enhancement, Specialisation & Real-world Learning (Year 2 & 3)
In the last semester of MCA, all the students are engaged in a compulsory project with the objective of giving practical exposure to the software development process in the real world. In this project, students gain comprehensive knowledge of the complete software development life cycle from planning and design to implementation and testing. Such practical exposure bridges the gap between school learnings and industry needs, thereby enabling them to perform better on placements and internships in leading organisations in the IT, analytics, and software development industries.
The MCA program maintains a robust industry interface to integrate theoretical concepts with practical applications. Students go on industrial tours to well-established technology companies, acquiring firsthand exposure to professional setups, work processes, and technology. The program is also supplemented through frequent hands-on workshops, webinars conducted by experts, and interactive sessions where students get exposed to new trends in computer applications. Industry association facilitates live practical sessions on contemporary tools and platforms. This ongoing interaction with experts and live systems gives students the real-world skills and confidence required to excel within the IT sector.
The Department of Computer Applications offers students a chance to have vocational training for industry exposure in real-world scenarios. Through this training, students get exposed to the corporate setup and learn about software project workflows. It is compulsory for BCA, BCA (Cyber Security), BCA (Data Science and Big Data Analytics), B.Sc (Information Technology), and MCA students to complete a 4-week vocational training during the summer vacation after the 4th semester (or 2nd semester for MCA) usually in the months of June–July to keep it from interfering with regular studies.
Final semester students of BCA, BCA (Cyber Security), BCA (Data Science and Big Data Analytics), B.Sc (Information Technology), and MCA can also opt for 6-month industry training, which is voluntary and subject to clearance on a student request basis.
